Bench Degree

A series of books that take one subject from first principles to working mastery, at a pace an engineering mind can follow, with every experiment rebuildable on a bench.

Encyclopedias tried to hold everything and went an inch deep. The great illustrated books of the seventies and eighties were beautiful and were written for children. A degree costs four years and arrives with someone else's slant baked in.

There is room between those. Two and a half centuries of a single discipline, in order, with the wrong turns left in, close enough to the bench that you can put your hands on it.

Every volume will be published here in full, free, at the same time it goes to print.
